A young boy has died after he was hit by a car in Farranshock Estate in Mullingar. He had been taken by ambulance to Regional Hospital Mullingar after the incident which occurred around 6.30 yesterday, where he was pronounced dead.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have preserved the scene for examination.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users or pedestrians who were in the area at the time and have camera footage (including dash-cam recordings) are asked to make this available to gardaí.
