Few things interest me more, as a writer, than the psychology of the culture war. And few things are more interesting, psychologically, than watching how the mainstream media in the western world (and the UK in particular) is psychologically committed to destroying its own credibility over the UK Grooming Gang story.
Journalism, by and large, is no longer a well paid profession. Newsrooms right across the west are disproportionately staffed by young, eager, and liberal reporters, drawn to the job not by lure of wealth and riches, but by the lure of fame and influence.
