Gardaí detained five men following reports of a disturbance outside a property on Quay Street in Donegal early on Sunday morning, 6th October 2024.
The initial Garda response occurred around 2am, during which officers were assaulted while attempting to manage the situation.
Additional Garda units were called to the scene for support, and incapacitant spray was used as part of an escalated public order response.
The five men, all adults ranging from their late teens to early 20s, were arrested and subsequently charged.
They are scheduled to appear before Donegal District Court on 6th November 2024.
The Gardaí who were assaulted continued their duties until 7am on Sunday morning.
