As a young person who’s been hearing a lot lately about, on the one hand, ‘the rise of the nones’ when it comes to the lack of religious affiliation among the youth of today, and on the other, the excessive femininity of modern Christianity, imagine my surprise when I came across an analysis suggesting that not only has secularisation among young Americans “stalled out”, but that young men are slowly but steadily returning to Church.
I say “imagine my surprise”, but the reality is that I wasn’t surprised at all, because even though the data in question is US-centric, my Irish eyes have told me a similar story over the past couple of years as I’ve been out and about among the Church of today.
