The political leader of terrorist organisation Hamas has been killed in a missile strike in Iran.
Hamas called the strike “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran”, after Haniyah and his bodyguard were killed in the house they were staying in.
Israel has not claimed responsibility for the missile strike saying it is undergoing a “situational assessment” according to Al Jazeera.
The developments have been described as a potential “major setback” for any possibility of peace talks in the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza.
