According to Tusla, the Irish State’s Child and Family Agency, there has been a “significant and unprecedented increase” in the number of unaccompanied minors presenting to or being referred to their Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP) service.
In a statement to Gript, the agency said that over the past 24 months, the number of children arriving into Ireland with no adult guardian has increased by 500%.
