A woman in her 40s was seriously injured this morning after she was hit by a car in South Dublin.
The incident took place on Ballinteer Avenue, Dublin 16 just after 7am with gardaí and emergency services rushing to the scene.
In a statement Gardaí said “Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Ballinteer, Dublin 16 this morning.”
“The collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian occurred at a service station on Ballinteer Avenue shortly after 7am.”
“The pedestrian, a female in her 40s, has been transferred to St James’ Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.”
“Ballinteer Avenue, which had been closed for a period of time, has since reopened. No further information is available at this time.”
