A video of a reportedly homeless Irish man is circulating on social media after he is shown contacting the Sunday World to ask why, in his opinion, their focus was not on Irish homelessness.
The man, who says he has been living in the Phoenix Park for two years, asked why the paper ran a feature about an African migrant who says he was forced to sleep outside as there was no accommodation available for him.
The story about a man named Michel from Cameroon, reportedly an asylum seeker, was featured in the paper this week.
He asked a member of staff over the phone why they hadn’t come to do a story on him as an Irish national, instead focusing on someone from a foreign country.
The man became emotional when giving details of the circumstances that led to him sleeping rough.
He claims to have lost three stone since becoming homeless saying he is “starving”.
Shockingly he goes on to say he found his friend Patsy “dead in his tent” and it “didn’t even make the news”.
