Every year, a gathering of those who love Gaeilge, sean-nós singing, traditional dancing and the best of craic takes place at Oireachtas na Samhna where an abundance of treasures awaits newcomers to the festival.
Ar súil i gCill Áirne i mbliana, tá Gaeilgóirí tagtha ó gach pairt den tír. All are welcome, and it’s a great immersion in every aspect of Gaelic culture.
Bíonn dlúthdhiosca á sheoladh – one of the launches was of a new album from Diarmuid Ó Meacair, Ceoltóir Óg na Bliana, TG4 2022.

You’ll see lots of sean-nós dancing – a more authentic and stylish version of what you might see in Riverdance. “Ag baint deatach as ardán,” mar a deir siad.

For many, one the highlights of the Oireachtas is the abundance of beautiful and unique sean-nós singing which the Oireachtas has helped to foster and conserve.

Bíonn reailt na n-amhrán le feiceáil – competitions take place all week and culminate in the big one – Corn Uí Riada, named in honour of Seán Ó Riada and where the best known names in traditional singing can be heard.
Awards are also given for excellence in Irish language broadcasting.

Bain taitneamh as éisteacht le Comóras na mBan anseo.
“Tá sé iontach go bhfuil deis ag daoine teacht le chéíle,” Uachtarán an Chomhaltais, Éamon Ó hArgaín said, as Máirín de Brún welcomed all to the festival.
