Daly’s biting reply provoked a huge response from viewers across the media platforms, with many applauding her retort, while others criticised her.
“Bravo”, was a common response, while one X user said: “Can’t say I agree with Clare Daly on much, but she’s bang on here. No one outside the establishment really gets a fair shake.”
“Fair dues to Ms Daly, honest and forthright unlike the vast majority of politicians,” wrote another, while one fan described Daly’s reply as being delivered “with a smile…Clare Daly is Savage!!”.
However, others disagreed, with one comment saying “we not too interested in what she has to say anyway”, while a journalist claimed that when Daly was an MEP had also previously refused to speak to journalists.

The now-former MEP was backed by singer Annie Lennox and actress Susan Sarandon during her campaign, but was eliminated during the 17th count today.
I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me and all of the people I've had the privilege of working with over my time as an MEP, in Ireland, across Europe, and beyond.
