Twitter users have expressed some surprise over the sample line up for this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day festival parade.
The official images featuring numerous drag queens and a group of dancers wearing Spanish Flamenco like dresses left many wondering how the lineup is related to Irish culture.
St. Patrick’s Festival invites those across the world to come together on Friday 17th March to collectively celebrate, share, laugh, perform, participate and remember that ‘Mar a chéile sinn’ (we are one).

Some users were left wondering what this year’s parade theme has to do with Ireland’s Catholic patron, Saint Patrick.
Comments were also made wondering where the thousands of tourists that flood the country every year to view the parade – and soak in the atmosphere of the national day -will find accommodation given our on-going hotel vacancy shortage.
Concern was also expressed over the placement of a child in a photo with a man dressed in drag where the man’s bulge is clearly visible.
