Locals in Tramore have expressed shock, upset and disbelief after a women in her fifties was stabbed and seriously wounded, with a local councillor saying that the “sacred space” of the local church is “gone”.
The woman, who is a member of the Legion of Mary, was praying in Holy Cross Church in Tramore, Co Waterford at 9.45am yesterday, saying the Rosary before Mass when a man “lunged” at her with a knife, with horrified onlookers describing the attack as “very traumatic”.
