An application to convert a former commercial site at Belgard, close to Tallaght village, “from use as offices to use as temporary accommodation for persons seeking international accommodation” has been granted an exemption by South Dublin County Council (SDCC).
The site will be known to locals and commuters as the former ABB Building. Interestingly, while ownership of the site – more about this below – only changed on February 28 this year the application to SDCC from a company called Cuspview was accompanied by a letter from a procurement officer in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) sent to the company on November 12 last.
