The use of cash and cards in large grocery/drapery shops is 50/50, it’s a myth that cash is used less. A close relative of mine works in Dunnes
Cash is Freedom, all else is Capture and surveillance.
Unfortunately what they are not telling the people is that their cash is a backed up by debt which is going to implode causing hyper inflation and make cash useless.
The EU Bank know that the authoritarian nature of a cashless non-anonymous programmable CBDC will fail, if done in one step. They announced that cash would be kept in circulation with the introduction of their CBDC. This can’t be done without ATMs. Particularly with the closure of all the smaller banks. Later, when the CBDC is accepted, few will then associate the removal of cash with the CBDC. They will use the excuse that money collects virus or bacteria as the excuse, during one of their plandemics. The Irish government are just their useful-cronies, carrying out what was already planned. The Republicans have announced that they will block CBDCs in the US, which means he will also block the Digital ID, that has a digital wallet connected to it! Before it was called the ‘Digital Bank ID’, but they have removed the ‘bank’, so now it will be your vaccine passport, from which they will continue to make billions, as they will use it to stop travel. Plus all your details like if you have a police record, if you were seen protesting, what is your ESG score and your DNA info/finger-print and your online identification. So think about what this politician is telling us! The Digital ID needs to be prevented! The rest will take care of itself.
Let’s not forget if you forget your wallet you’ll always have access to funds via your JCB. It’s just not possible in a cashless society.
Nice one Emmet.
@Ben: Can’t read the paywalled article, but on this topic, this is also worth a read:
https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2024/01/ecb-and-eu-commission-are-trying-to-prevent-austria-and-slovakia-from-enacting-constitutional-reforms-to-enshrine-right-to-use-cash.html
TLDR – the actual right (or not) to use cash may ultimately be the ECB’s decision, not that of national governments – which makes the potential for an ECB enforced CBDC an EU-wide threat to civil liberties.
Unfortunately what they are not telling the people is that their cash is a backed up by debt which is going to implode causing hyper inflation and make cash useless. This is planned and not incidental so their attempt to attract votes with this stunt is pointless to the man on the street. Dont worry folks, cbdcs will be here to save the day with carbon credits and expiry dates.
Yes, this is good news. Cash should always have its place.
The bill should and could go further in also mandating that ATMs should be required to dispense smaller denomination notes (such as €10 and €20) on request. There is an increasing trend for ATMs to only dispense multiples of €50 and very often that is not required by the customer. In some cases that customer might not have €50 availabe but should have the right to withdraw a tenner or a score if they wish.
Its very simple, the EU needs people to be able to spend Euro without using American payment companies such as Visa / MasterCard.
The EU can not have America in control over EU citizens ability to spend Euro.
The EU is but a US puppet since its creation and dependent on it for its NATO financing and LNG energy supply since the US blew up the gas pieline supply to Germany.
Yeah… just in time for elections…
Meanwhile the CBDC is creeping in behind the cameras…
