The viral French schools protests – or should I more accurately call them riots – show no sign of abating as Monday saw the closure of 500 schools across the country.
On Monday, what has become a full-blown fiasco continued to escalate as a 15 year-old boy lost his hand in the northern town of Lens after two weeks of students burning down their classrooms. The local newspaper La Voix du Nord reported that the teenager’s hand was blown off after he picked up a police stun grenade. The local prefect François-Xavier Lauch said that an investigation into the incident has been opened.
