Aontú’s Peadar Toibín says the projected defeat of the Yes campaign in #Referendum2024 is a rejection of the Government, & that the referendum was about politicians “virtue signalling.” He also called for a no confidence vote in Roderic O’Gorman, saying he “misled” the public.
Early tallies in the referendum indicate a massive ‘No’ victory, with some areas indicating a ‘No’ vote of over 75%. Ben Scallan reports from Dublin Castle:

The Conservatives who say that these referendums will discourage marriage are missing the point: this won’t stop anyone getting married – indeed, it will disincentivise commitment-phobic people from baby-farming and expecting the State to pick up the tab.
Roderic O’Gorman said that progressive groups who weren’t supporting a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum would have to explain why. Fianna Fáil TD John McGuinness says this “sounded like a threat,” and that O’Gorman was “out of order.” He added that he is personally voting ‘No’.
