Footage has emerged of the moment a reportedly homeless man was shot on the side of the road in the US city of St. Louis.
The footage captured by onlookers shows an African American man, who had allegedly been involved in an altercation with the victim minutes before the shooting, loading a gun before shooting the man in the head.

The shooter, identified as 23 year old Deshawn Thomas, has since been arrested and is facing a charge of first degree murder.
The victim was identified by local news outlets as David Saldala with reports that Thomas ran from the scene before being apprehended by police.
Witnesses told police the pair had been involved in an altercation outside a nearby Shell petrol station before the shooting took place at approximately 10 am.
