If it is October, and it will be soon, then it must be Black History Month. As an historian by trade, of a sort, I love all history and do not object to any genre of history being given space and research and debate on matters historical being aired.
The concept of Black History month in the United States goes back almost a century when it was a weekly affair and explored the history of Americans of African descent and their origins as a community based in the horrific slave trade. It was a history that needed telling. It later expanded into Black History Month in 1970.
