It’s sort of difficult to write the weekly roundup this week, because the whole concept of this weekly newsletter is to write about the minor issues that caught my eye during the week. The difficulty is that in the middle of august, you end up writing a disproportionate amount about the minor issues during the week so that things that might usually end up in this column – drugs in prisons, single sex education, whether we should ban sunbeds – have all been promoted to columns of their own.
Perhaps instead, then, it might be worth doing a weekly roundup of the major issues, instead.
