Not since Michael Myers sliced his way through the suburban Illinois town of Haddonfield, in the ground breaking 1978 Horror movie Halloween, has the fictional killing of the middle-class white girl generated so much terror. The Netflix series, Adolescence continues to generate headlines.
Surveying the media landscape the last week or so I am left asking myself just why does the fictional killing of a white girl by a white boy get more headlines than the actual killing of 12 year old Leo Ross by a 14 year old boy?
