Former President Michael D Higgins has come in for a bit of flack over his objection to a proposed housing development opposite to where he lives on the Circular Road in Rahoon, on the outskirts of Galway City.
Higgins, his wife Sabina and three sons Michael, John and Daniel are listed among 32 residents who have objected to a plan that was submitted in June on behalf of Kenny developers to Galway City Council.
