Earlier this week a disturbing news story broke in Ballymena, County Antrim. A teenage girl had been the victim of what is now being described as an “attempted” rape at the hands of two assailants. Two young boys – aged 14 – have been arrested and are facing charges of attempted Oral Rape.
It is widely understood that the two accused boys are members of a minority migrant community. Which is presumably why DUP MLA Paul Frew issued a statement yesterday morning saying that the incident “overlapped with concerns in the area about immigration”.
