Ordinarily, my view on the Irish Daily Mail publishing photos of Social Democrat TD Eoin Hayes in “blackface” from a student event sixteen years ago would be that it is disgraceful journalism to attack a politician for a harmless student misadventure and try to make it into a scandal.
But in fact, I think the paper has done us all a service. It has exposed, once more, the utter absurdity of the Soc Dems.
