A landlord who has recently – I believe on foot of the Government’s oppressive new rules for tenancy agreements due to come in next March – has gotten in touch with me in recent days to share something that came as a surprise when it appeared in their inbox.
Having notified the Residential Tenancies Board that they were exiting the rental market and would be selling the property in question, they promptly received the email below from the Department of Housing, which transparently tries to dissuade them of their course of action:
