An arrest has been made in connection with the murder investigation of Jo Jo Dullard who has been missing for the last 29 years.
Gardaí have confirmed that a man, (50s), was taken into custody this morning on the suspicion of the murder of Miss Dullard.
He is currently detained under the provisions of section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare.
The case of missing Jo Jo Dullard was upgraded from a missing person’s to murder inquiry four years ago, with this morning’s arrest the first in the case.
On the 29th anniversary of Dullard’s disappearance – last Saturday 9th of November – Gardaí, renewed their appeal for information on her whereabouts.
Miss Dullard went missing on the 9th of November 1995 after having been out socialising with friends in Bruxelles Bar on Harry Street, Dublin.
She missed her bus home to Kilkenny and instead boarded a bus to Naas, Co Kildare. From there she intended to hitchhike home to Callan, in Co Kilkenny.
Miss Dullard hitched a lift from Naas to a slip road on the M9 motorway at Kilcullen, Co Kildare and at approximately 11.15pm, hitched another lift to Moone, Co Kildare.
After having arrived In Moone, Misss Dullard called her friend Mary Cullinan at 11.37pm.
During the course of this call, Miss Dullard indicated that a car had stopped for her and she was going to take the lift.
This is the last known interaction with her.
