Man accused of Sligo Double Murder sent for Trial

Book of evidence served

22-year-old Yousef Palani has been served with the book of evidence against him at Sligo District Court this morning. 

Palani was charged with the murders of Sligo men Michael Snee and Aidan Moffitt whose bodies were found at their respective homes last April. 

Palani is also charged in relation to the attempted Murder of Anthony Burke at Cleveragh Road on 9th of April last. 

Independent.ie reports,  “At Sligo District Court this morning, Sergeant Ciaran Naughton informed Judge Sandra Murphy the Book of Evidence was served on the accused.”

“He said the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed trial on indictment on the three charges. Garda Conor McNulty told the judge he served the defendant with the Book of Evidence.”

Palani, who was granted legal aid and will be represented by a junior and senior counsel,  was remanded in custody to await trial at the Central Criminal Court in  Dublin.
