In the early hours of Wednesday morning, US President Donald Trump announced that he had struck another of his famous ‘deals’ with Iran which meant that he would not have to proceed with his social media promise on April 7 that “A whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
Shorn of all the Trumpian rhetoric his deal merely consisted of persuading Iran to re-open the Strait of Hormuz which Iran had closed on March 2 in response to the joint Israeli/American attacks on the country which had begun on February 28.
