New data from the EU shows that Ireland continues to have one of the highest rates of excess deaths in 2023, with 17.8% excess mortality recorded in October 2023, the period for which the most recent data is pulled for the European Dashboard.
“In October 2023, excess mortality continued to vary across the EU. Seven EU Member States recorded no excess deaths. Among the twenty EU Member States that recorded excess deaths, the highest rates were in Finland (19.8 %), Ireland (17.8 %), Cyprus (17.4 %) and the Netherlands (15.1 %),” Eurostat reported.
The level of excess deaths recorded in Ireland during 2023 has been consistently amongst the worst across the EU member states, and well above the EU average, Eurostat figures show.
In August, excess deaths in Ireland reached 21.3%, before falling to 12.7% in September and then rising again to 17.8% in October.
Excess mortality in Ireland was recorded at 13.6% in June showing no significant fall from the previous month and a rise of more than a percentage point since April.
Previous reports showed that excess deaths in Ireland were recorded at 12.2% in April 2023, and 13.2% in May 2023, also well above the EU average.
Commentators and medical experts have posited several possible reasons for the level of excess deaths including the effect of social distancing on the immune system of the population, and the impact of prolonged lockdowns on access to healthcare.
Irish TDs have called for an investigation into the level of excess death that continue to be recorded for this country, with Independent TD, Mattie McGrath asking the Health Minister, Stephen Donnelly, last May if his Department would carry out an investigation into the trends and causes for the level of excess deaths.
Similarly, last July , Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Health why “the excess mortality rate in Ireland has been spiking so high in recent months.”
He asked for an investigation as to why “there were 25.4% more deaths in Ireland in December 2022 than the average for the same month from 2016 to 2019” and pointed out that “the excess mortality rate in Ireland has been higher than the EU average for the past 12 months apart from July 2022”.
In October he said his party had “been raising serious concerns over excess mortality for two years. There has been a prolonged period, month after month, where mortality figures have been far in excess of the normal in this State. We have been doing so through debates here, through parliamentary questions and in the media. It is deeply frustrating that the Government has not taken this issue seriously at all over the last two years.”
At that time Fianna Fáil TD, John McGuinness, who was a member of the Special Committee on Covid-19 Response, said he was “beginning to think that the number of deaths is unusual and, therefore, we should examine that and try to understand what is the cause of that.”
Speaking in the Dáil, the Kilkenny TD said that the number of young people dying in his county shocked him.
“Some people consider that there are a lot more deaths now than in comparison to previous years and normal life expectancy,” he said. “I accept that we have an increased ageing population and that would explain some of the numbers. What shocks me in my own county is the number of young people who are dying, the number of cancer cases being reported and the range of the types of cancer that people are suffering from, in some cases causing death. We should educate ourselves on what is happening and we should try to understand the types of cancer and where they come from,” he said.
Eurostat says that excess mortality refers to the number of deaths from all causes measured during a defined period, above what could be observed in the baseline period.
“The excess mortality indicator takes the number of people who died from any cause in a given period and compares it with a historical baseline from previous years in a period that was not affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this case, the baseline consists of the average number of deaths that occurred each month during the period 2016-2019. The higher the value, the higher the number of additional deaths compared with the baseline. The negative indicator shows that fewer deaths occurred in a particular month compared with the baseline period.”
A report released yesterday by the OECD asserted that that Ireland was one of nine OECD countries to avoid excess deaths during this period, reporting the fourth lowest rate globally (and surpassed only by New Zealand, Iceland and Norway).
While Minister Stephen Donnelly welcomed the findings as evidence of the “success of Ireland’s public health measures, and to the strong uptake of our COVID-19 vaccination programme”, other commentators said that Sweden, which did not implement such severe restrictions, had similar outcomes.

In late 2020 the Pharmaceutical Industry introduced the Injection, which was not a Vaccine, which had a ‘No Liability’ Clause as to Death or Injury.
The Injection was an Experimental mRNA, Gene Therapy, DNA interference system and had only Emergency approval and was produced in a little over 6 months.
Normal Vaccine production takes 10/15 years to allow for side effects Issues and eventual approval or cancellation.
The Injection did not prevent infection or transmission.
It damaged the bodies natural immunity.
In 2021 instances of ‘died suddenly’ became frequent on RIP.ie.This trend has continued and will continue for many years.

The CSO figures for deaths in the second quarter were released recently and on the CSO site they point out that deaths had gone down compared to the same period in 2022, neglecting of course to point out that the quarter 2 deaths in 2022 were off the scale (9535),
The figure for deaths in Q2 of 2023 is 8749, this is over 1200 more than the average of the years 2015-2019,

You seem to forget or don’t mention that according to CSO census 2022 our population increased by 394,139
between 2016-2022 and increased again between Apr 2022 and Apr 2023 by another 97000 due to inward migration. That’s an increase of nearly half a million.
Ireland has a death rate of 6.5 per thousand (one of the lowest rates in Europe). So this will potentially lead to 3000 deaths a year.
Furthermore, Census 2022 also told us that we increased our cohort of O65’s by 25 per cent. (156,000). This age cohort has a mortality rate of 33 per thousand.
Bigger population, older population, more mortality, been borne by the older populace. Mortality in u-65 and u45’s remarkably stable/level considering our population increase, I have figures courtesy of CSO.

Some of the heart issues, particularly among the young likely are Mick. A lot of the rest will be down to the fact that the medical profession ceased to function. I mean who could possibly forsee that being unable to access a doctor, be diagnosed or get hospital treatment would lead to adverse outcomes for those unfortunate enough to develop non COVID health issues while the hospitals were effectively closed. No one in government seems to have thought this could cause problems. Lack of foresight ?. I think not. It was just heartless indifference to others.

For excluding/banning highly qualified dissenting international medical experts (example: The Great Barrington Declaration) from all the discussion, RTE, the mainstream media and the Irish government have made themselves liable, in my unqualified opinion, to legal action. You are completely correct there. The lock downs were to destroy our immunity and prevent absorption of natural vit d but also to prevent mingling so we did not pick up the every day dirt and bacteria that trains our immune system which degrades it. Additionally they made us use hand sanitiser too which destroys good and bacteria further weakening our immune system. The masks would also reduce the amount of oxygen we take in down to 17 PC which causes a build up of co2 damaging the brain. They also violated the Nuremberg code by not disclosing the contents of both the swabs and the vaccine ingredients which contain nano particles, pheotal DNA and graphene which not only destroys the immune system but also locks to the arteries causing the heart attacks and strokes we now see. The graphene also causes the turbo cancers. They also appear to have had different batches containing different strengths. This all reached a peak during the winter of 22 when the over crowding happened and the longer people were left on trollies, the higher the chance of death which I believe was intentional. The kakistocracy are responsible for genocide in my opinion and should be locked up. Anybody who votes for these people now are in my view complicit.

What really surprised me was that anyone paid the slightest bit of attention to the restrictions on meeting people and travelling at the time. After a few weeks of lockdown I concluded that the whole thing was a load of horse manure and then totally ignored all restrictions. Judging by the others I met and spoke with in shop queues etc many many others had reached the same conclusion as me. You still see some people wearing masks in public. When I do I always feel sorry for the state of terror in which they are living still.
Just curiously, were the people you spoke to whilst queuing, maskless?
RTE and the journal etc loved statistics during the lockdown. Funny how this particular statistic is nowhere to be seen on their platforms today. If they got it wrong they should at least have the decency to admit this, but it seems they would rather sweep it under the rug.

I made a comment yesterday on OECD figures (which don’t cover 2023). I wish to make it abundantly clear (a reply of mine to another comment seems to have been “lost in the ether) that I await some checking of those OECD stats. That is particularly so as regards 2022 which pretty reputable international databases were showing an appreciable excess (in Ireland). This latest Gript article (dealing with 2023) chimes with my understanding of matters for that year. Incidentally – even if Ireland was an “outlier” – and didn’t have excess deaths for the years concerned – well-informed commentators in the UK and the USA are sounding alarm bells about excess death rates in those jurisdictions. One train of thought is that the “scaled up” manufacturing of the jabs led to lax quality control (and “laxity” is not something normally tolerated in drug production) – that lack of proper QC could explain why some appreciably “jabbed populations” are not exhibiting the phenomenon under discussion (and, I repeat, if someone can explain away – with “Science” – these increased deaths, I’d be delighted !).
Honestly I never locked myself down and I never took the jab but I remember the fear that was instilled at the beginning of 2020. The TV pics coming out of Italy and Spain were terrifying. I think it was around June 2020 when I first began to smell a rat. When I realised that the age group involved in the terrible stats and the fact that the government forced that age group into what could only be described as death camps and out of hospitals were they could have been safer atleast. I know we lost some younger people to covid and I understand relatives of these people would call bullshit on my statement here but overall the lock downs done nothing more than prolong the disease. I do not believe those people died from covid, I believe they died from being put on ventilators unnecessarily and not being given hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin. Treatments which Doctors had great success with!
