It was interesting to see that the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation wrote to the Irish Times to set the record straight on teachers’ views on religious education in schools after the paper published a piece declaring “teachers want religion out of the classroom”.
For context, in the past few weeks, Gript reported the full facts on the “robust” debate and vote on a motion before the INTO conference which sought to remove religious education from the school day in State-funded schools.
