When the former Hampton Hotel – and prior to that Sachs – was placed on the market in October 2023 with a guide price of €12.5 million the agents for the sale, Colliers, described it as a “fantastic opportunity to redevelop and expand an iconic Dublin hotel.”
Scrap that, because the hotel it would seem was not sold and the fantastic opportunity that was spotted to use the building as another exempted development under the amended planning and development regulations as “overnight accommodation” for displaced persons or persons seeking international protection.
