Tánaiste Simon Harris said that the windfall profits that energy companies are making from the energy crisis is “obscene”. Asked by Ben Scallan if the tax windfall the State was making is also “obscene”, Harris denied that it was, saying: “The Government is giving back so much more than it’s taking in.”
