A conference to discuss the impact of gender ideology on Irish politics, education, sport and more is set to take place in Dublin later this month.
The event, which is organised by the gender-critical feminist campaigning group The Countess, is entitled “Resisting Ideology,” and is set to take place on Saturday the 27th of April 2024 at the Dublin’s RDS.

According to organisers, the event seeks to examine the “impact” of transgender ideology on Irish society across a variety of fields, including “legislation, policy, education, culture, and sport.”
“This national event will bring together ordinary women and men from across Ireland for discussion, debate, and insights from activists, thought leaders, and experts across key subject areas,” organisers said in a statement.
“Join the fight for reality, for freedom of speech, for evidence-based healthcare, for the future of our society.”
The event page lists a variety of topics that are up for discussion, including how gender ideology “infiltrated” the government and influenced laws; how the government’s proposed hate speech bill might impact on free speech when it comes to gender issues; the defence of female categories in sports where biological males may compete, and more.
“Why is it important to protect female categories in sport?” the Countess asked in a statement.
“Why are boys and men allowed to join teams and take places of girls and women? LGFA [Ladies’ Gaelic Football Association] policy allows boys over the age of twelve to join girls’ teams – how can we fight back?”
The event will also reference the legal phenomenon of allowing violent biological males to be placed into female prisons if they identify as a woman and have a gender recognition certificate from the State to verify this.

“Men are being placed in female prisons in this country if they simply fill out a form that says they are a woman,” the event page reads.
“There are no safeguards. What impact does this have on women prisoners and prison officers?”
All of this and more is set to be discussed at the event, the link to which can be viewed here.
