Two men accused of raping a woman at Ceannt train station in Galway are to apply for High Court bail.
The men, who were aided by an Arabic interpreter, appeared before Galway District Court this morning, RTÉ reports.
The accused men, who are aged 25 and 27, appeared via video link from prison.
The pair were previously charged with raping the woman at the car park of Ceannt train station on the 1st of August 2026, contrary to section 48 of the Offences Against the Person Act.
The older man is charged with a second count of rape, contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Law Rape Amendment Act.
They are also both charged with falsely imprisoning the alleged victim, contrary to section 15 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
The pair are to apply for High Court bail later this week and were remanded in continued custody to appear before Galway District Court again on the 7th of September.
