It is a strange and happy fact, on reflection, that the long-warned-against “regional war in the Middle East” has thus far been such an underwhelming affair. We should all hope that this state of affairs continues. Mostly, the war has been underwhelming in terms of its impact because it has been so one sided – consider that as of Sunday Afternoon, Iran has lost more nuclear scientists (a reported 15) than Israel has lost military and civilian casualties in total (13 at the time of writing).
This is, of course, not guaranteed to continue. Nevertheless, after three full days of conflict, six things can – I think – be said with some confidence.
