Many Irish people may have been shocked and appalled to learn, last week, of the horribly violent death of 20-year-old Josh Itseli. They may have been further appalled to learn that Mr. Itseli, per the national broadcaster, “was a member of a street gang of young, violent, volatile, reckless and extremely dangerous drug dealers and criminals” who “made their money from – amongst other crimes – selling cocaine”.
What most Irish people probably didn’t know, until RTE were kind enough to point it out in an article from their crime correspondent Paul Reynolds, is that every cloud has a silver lining, of sorts:
