A former employee of Highfield Healthcare who smuggled over €8,000 worth of controlled substances into Ireland from Brazil avoided jail after appearing before the Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
Marcos Pontes De Melo Almeida (35) was caught at Terminal 1 of Dublin Airport on the 18th of March 2024, with prescription medication hidden in his luggage, by Customs Officers.
