An RTÉ feelgood report on the demand for direct flights from Dublin airport to Brazil contains a rather glaring error which is highlighted not only by the very Census it refers to, but by all of the other relevant statistics and the figures mentioned in the piece by Samantha Libreri.
Libreri refers to a 2022 Census figure of 27,000 Brazilians which was not accurate then, and is likely still to be a gross underestimate of the numbers of Brazilians currently living in the Irish state.
