In a PQ response to Independent TD for Offaly, Carol Nolan, the Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, has stated that a total of 37 “in-community residential properties were purchased by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth (DCEDIY) for the accommodation of international protection applicants.”
That figure more or less tallies with the figure of 35 given to me, following a question to the Department, following my discovery that a house in a residential estate in Stamullen, County Meath, in the ownership of the Minister is due to be used to accommodate International Protection Applicants.
