House prices in Ireland continue to rise inexorably in all parts of the country, extending further and further out of reach of many young people trying to get on the housing ladder.
Many politicians and commentators have described it as a “housing emergency”, with then-Taoiseach Leo Varadkar previously saying that we need a Covid-style response to address the crisis where the State takes massive, dramatic intervention to fix the issue.
