A suggestion by Minister of State, Niall Collins, that the TV licence fee which funds RTÉ be collected by the Revenue Commissioners rather than An Post has drawn the ire of online commentators.
Speaking on TonightVMTV last night, Deputy Collins, who is Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, said that: “The idea of An Post collecting the TV licence has been an abject failure – arguing that Revenue would be better placed to collect the fee.
