A tech-savvy Dublin man has said he was almost taken in by a “blatant scam” text because it appeared amid a chain of real texts from Ireland’s national postal service, An Post.
The man, who works in the IT industry, says he had received several genuine texts from An Post about previous orders in the months prior, but that his suspicions were aroused when he received one featuring broken English that began with the words “Dear best customer” and contained an odd looking link.
