A “scathing critique” by US Vice-President JD Vance of the disastrous US midterm election results for his party has blamed the Iran war for the defeat, a move widely seen as an effort to distance himself from President Donald Trump in the eyes of voters.
Vance had been unsupportive of the war from the beginning, with Politico reporting back in March that senior administration officials said the VP was “skeptical,” “worried about success” and “just opposes” the war on Iran.
