A Fine Gael Senator has claimed that firearms licenses are often denied to people on an “ad hoc” basis by an “ill-informed police force” making decisions based on personal prejudice.
In an interview with Gript, Fine Gael Senator PJ Murphy said that there are “a lot of irregularities” in how Gardaí apply discretion to the process.
