Ireland is set to begin EU-wide negotiations on the implementation of a digital euro despite fears it could hand more social control to Brussels.
The government is set to chair EU ‘trilogue’ negotiations between the three core EU institutions on the implementation of the controversial currency on July 13 as part of its role as the current nation-state president of the European Council.
