“It’s not normal for governments to win by-elections,” a Fianna Fáil Minister has said, adding that he “won’t be shocked” if the Government parties are unsuccessful in the upcoming contests.
Speaking to Gript ahead of this week’s Cabinet meeting, Higher Education Minister James Lawless was reacting to the latest Red C poll, which showed a decline in support for the main Government parties, who are on the lowest level of combined support in that poll series ever recorded. Lawless described the results as being “within the margin of error.”
