A bench warrant has been issued for a man who is facing Public Order charges in relation to an alleged incident which took place last St. Patrick’s Day in County Cork.
A previous District Court sitting heard that the accused, Congolese national, Mbuke Desire, has “not a sausage” of documentation despite coming to Ireland in 2005.
Today, at Dublin District Court Judge Michele Finan issued a bench warrant after the accused failed to appear before the courts.
Mr. Desire (36) of 182 Clonliffe Road, Dublin is charged with engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour or insulting words or behaviour likely to lead to a breach of the peace after it is alleged that ran down a train station platform tract in Co. Cork on St. Patrick’s Day last.
Judge Miriam Walsh previously heard that Mr. Desire came from the Congo in 2005 and has been seeking international protection in Ireland for 20 years, but did not have “a sausage” of documentation.
At a previous sitting, Judge Alan Mitchell heard that Desire was released on therapeutic bail to receive mental health treatments at a Dublin hospital was completed.
On the occasions the state was granted an application for the accused to be remanding back into custody for two weeks.
The alleged incident took place at Little Island train station at Kilcoolishal, Glounthaune, where there were groups and families present.
