Yesterday I reported on these pages that Aontú have contacted a group of 25 TDs and Senators with a view to forming a “nominating caucus” that could potentially select a populist Presidential candidate to contest the election that is coming up in November.
Whether that effort succeeds or not, it is badly needed. For the Presidential Election is shaping up to be a drab and depressing affair.
