The security company, Superior NI Group Holding – which was the subject of an unfavourable risk assessment report in 2023, and whose contract for Citywest Hotel was stated by the Department of Integration last May to be subject to possible new tender – received €3,559,674 in payments from the Department for security and asylum accommodation in 2024.
That included more than €2,609,404 paid to the company since the report that the Department had stated that it was “currently drafting a new tender for security services at Citywest.” I contacted the Department to ask them if this had taken place: and “how many other companies tendered for the contract”; and had “Superior been awarded a new contract and if so up to what date.” I had received no response prior to publication.
