One of the statistics that caught my attention during my occasional scans of official records related to both asylum accommodation payments and work permits is that quite a number of businesses benefit from both.
That is, they get money from the state from providing for Ukrainian refugees and persons claiming International Protection and they benefit from a very liberal work permit regime which allows them to operate in Ireland without being constricted by laws that force them to do anything too onerous, like employing mainly Irish people.
