I have written nothing at all about the ceasefire agreement in the middle east because, dear reader, I am that most boring of things – an instinctive pessimist. That pessimism was not really lifted by the sight of the new Hamas head honcho (or whatever the title is these days) delivering his “victory speech” from Qatar. It’s below and helpfully subtitled. In any case, be in no doubt as to what is being said there: The pause in the fighting is just that, a pause, and the fighting will not stop until “the liberation of Jerusalem”.
